Verander dit voorjaar de tuin van je ouders in een offroad race circuit. Het mooie van deze serie BY RC Racing Buggies is, dat je de beschikbare huis-tuin en keuken spullen kunt gebruiken om een mooi tuinparcours aan te leggen.

Plak bijvoorbeeld wat kartonplaten met schilderplakband aan elkaar en met een beetje fantasie bouw je het tuingrasveld zo om tot een heus race circuit.Word je dit wat te saai, maak dan een schans en leg daarachter een emmer, en kijk hoe snel je eruit kan komen. De BY RC Racers zijn er speciaal voor gemaakt om zich in een opwaartse spiraal (’Mad Spiral Effect’) uit een emmer te komen. Of maak zoals de video een koker en laat het MSE-effect het werk doen! Regent het buiten, bouw de circuit op in de woonkamer, slaapkamer of op zolder. Vraag vrienden of ze je willen helpen en race tegen elkaar. De fabrikant van de nogal zwaar geprijsde Mini-Z modellen komt in het voorjaar uit met een nieuw tweewieler model. De MINI-Z Moto Racer moet het nieuwe parade paardje gaan worden van de Japanse Kyosho, die overigens worden gefabriceerd in China. Wellicht zal de verkoopprijs fors zijn, net als de andere Mini-Z racers.

Volgens R/C fanaten loopt Kyosho zo’n tien jaar achter op concurrenten, die soort gelijke modellen fabriceren. De techniek en daarmee prijspeil van Kyosho zou niet meer voldoen aan de ontwikkelingen in de RC modelbouw wereld. Tegenwoordig zou een gemiddelde fabrikant dezelfde kwaliteit kunnen aanbieden voor een voordeligere prijs. Helaas gaat Kyosho daarin niet mee.

Ooit wel eens een vis op het droge zien voortbewegen? Binnenkort zijn ze verkrijgbaar. Je kan kiezen uit een indrukwekkende haai of vriendelijke clownfish (anemoonvis in het Nederlands) en als je niet kunt kiezen, neem je ze toch allebei? Succes verzekerd!

Als het even meezit zijn ze voor de feestdagen te verkrijgen, maar je kunt ze alvast op je verlanglijstje zetten. Helaas passen ze niet in je schoen, omdat ze volledig gevuld met helium wel 1,40 meter lang kunnen worden. Natuurlijk kun je ze gewoon met lucht vullen, maar van helium krijgen ze ‘vleugels’.xefxbfxbd Vergeet dan niet een fles helium ballongas er bij op te zetten, wat deze is onmisbaar voor ongekende fun!

Door de unieke staart die bestuurd kan worden, kunnen de vissen vooruit, naar links of rechts worden voortbewogen. Met een speciaal apparaatje op de ‘buik’ wordt de vis naar boven of beneden worden gericht en zo omhoog of omlaag worden gestuurd. Aan het filmpje op de website is te zien hoe hoog de fun-factor is en een geheide hit is op een doorsnee pakjesavond of kerstdag.

About 1xc2xbd weeks ago we were present at the Dutch Electrified 'no-competition-just-fun' offroad meeting which was organized by a Dutch R/C-Promotion foundation RC-Promotion.org and a local R/C racing club. The meeting was a real hit, about 80 racers were giving 'acte de prxc3xa9sence'. The people of the organization did a great job in converting a horse riding school into a perfect offroad R/C track for 1/10 scale and smaller model cars. Whether you have no or a lot experience driving on a R/C track, everybody was invited to join this meeting. This made the perfect condition for me to dare to take a new electric R/C model to the ultimate test.

This time it was a brand new Short Course truck. In real life these truck races are very popular in the States. Overhere in the Netherlands I have not seen a 1/1 SC truck but on R/C scale they are very popular in this little country. For participation to Electrified I had to look for a new electric offroad R/C car, since I had only 1/8 nitro offroaders. So I was very glad I could drive with this 'baby'. When I heared the sale price of this RTR set continued to smile even more, like ear to ear! For less then xe2x82xac140,- your are ready to go.

Everything you need is included to race this properly. For this price you get even a 2.4 Ghz radio system. Only thing you need are batteries for the transmitter. Although a standard RS 540 size electro motor and electric speed controller is already present, I installed another motor and an ESC with extended functionality. Also I replaced the stock battery pack for one with greater capacity (3600mAh instead of 1800milliAmps). I even have tried a 3s Lipo pack, but this made some fellow drivers very nervous. Go Fly Kite from Singapore has created a one of a kind series of RC kites. These kites are extremely light and portable, can be flown at night while high power leds are included and at strong wind conditions and are designed to be crash resistant. With use of new rechargable battery technology they have extended flying run times. The parts are easily replaceable and manageable at low costs. They are easily manoeuvrable, able to hover and can perform loops, rolls, inverted flying, axel roll and are even able to fly in small areas.

The main designer of the GFK is Michael Lim, founder of Go Fly Kite. The former jeweller with more than 20 years of jewellery designing and sales experience decided to mix his hobby with profession. His hobby was flying RC planes and helicopters but soon found out that this was not easy and involved high maintenance cost. Also he missed the social aspect of the hobby, while this kind of hobby doesn't require group activity. So that's why he searched to a solution to perform the hobby in a more social matter, what was easy to learn and has low maintenance cost. Because Mr. Lim had no reference at all of any existing aero modelling design, he although took the challenge to do many experiments. This resulted in launching the first RC kite in 2000. In 2001 the company was established and was privatised on August 2006.

Tamiya Expec GTII 2.4G radio system

Finally Tamiya has found out that 2.4GHz becomes the new worldwide standard for R/C models. So they now are proud to release this 3-channel 2.4GHz radio control system for glow engine vehicles. This 3-channel radio control system utilizes a 2.4GHz frequency hopping system which eliminates the need for frequency crystals. Set includes a transmitter, a receiver, a receiver battery case, and two servos, making it ideal for use with glow engine cars.

Design
If you are a fan of Tamiya products you'll probably love the Expec GT design made by Hans A. Muth from Germany. If you're not stuck to this Asian brand you'll probably wonder why they still come with this old fashioned '90s design and not with a new one like other R/C manufacturers do. If you look at the surface radio systems of Spektrum, Traxxas, LRP or Venom, these look more 'aerodynamic'. Looking at the price of the GT-II 2.4G (around $170) I think I would rather go for a radio with a more 2010/11 look, but hey, that's my H.O.*
